System rollout

OMNY is rolling out across New York City

We are continuing the rollout to all subway stations, bus routes, and Staten Island Railway locations. Once this is complete, you will be able to tap and go throughout New York City.

During the rollout, you can continue using your own contactless card or smart device. OMNY supports a full-fare, pay-per-ride option for now, with free transfers at OMNY-enabled subway stations, bus routes, and Staten Island Railway locations.

New York City Bus

OMNY is currently available on all MTA-operated buses on Staten Island. This includes all local buses and all express buses. This excludes the SIM23 and SIM24 routes operated by Academy Bus.

OMNY will expand to MTA-operated buses in Manhattan next, beginning in March 2020.

New York City Subway and Staten Island Railway

Although we plan to expand OMNY along line segments, we are committed to installing OMNY readers at all turnstiles in station complexes with other lines. This will allow you to access additional transfer points with OMNY.

For example, when we launched OMNY at Canal Street on the line, we also activated the rest of the Canal Street complex serving the lines.

Keep in mind that OMNY is not available system-wide just yet, so plan ahead – especially if you need to make transfers during part of your journey where OMNY is not yet available.
